The Friends of the Park is a non-profit corporation organized to assist and support the improvement, maintenance, and preservation of our Columbiana County Parks. It is a tax exempt public charity under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code and is eligible to receive tax deductible donations and gifts.
Friends of the Park, Inc. will use 100% of all donations to assist the Columbiana County Park District, which includes the Greenway Trail, Scenic Vista Park, S.R. 7 Supreme Court Site, and the new Hellbender Bluff Park. The CCPD operates on a limited annual budget with little money available for maintenance and improvement of our Parks. Your involvement will help keep Columbiana County a place to be proud of.
Is your group looking for a community service project?
Maybe you just want to be associated with a successful local organization. There are several ways to get involved both individually or as a group. We offer memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships. There is also our "Adopt a Trail" program. We also have a need for specific equipment donations. Maybe your group would like to provide trail enhancements through historical or natural interpretative signage. We are also looking for tour guides and educational speakers to educate community groups and organizations. Another area of involvment could be the restoration of the Rebecca Furnace, Sandy Beaver Canal sections or the Cherry Valley Coke Ovens. As you can see, there are many oppportunities for you or your ogranization to become involved. So, if you'd like to have more of a hands-on experience with the trail...
