Welcome to the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail. Truly a gem in the woods, the Greenway is nestled in a beautiful hardwood forest that runs 11 miles along scenic Little Beaver Creek, one of Ohio’s Nationally Designated Scenic Rivers.
The Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail begins in the historic Lisbon, Ohio, and travels along the rail bed of the former Erie Lackawanna Railroad to Leetonia. The trail surface is a ribbon of blacktop, 10 feet wide and lends itself to year round recreational activities. One advantage of the Greenway Trail is that, in the summer, the tree canopy transforms the trail into a virtual tunnel that keeps the trail cool and comfortable even in the heat of the day.
Much of the trail is in sight of the Little Beaver Creek, a hardy stream that supports abundant wildlife. The Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail travels through a glaciated valley. Lisbon is the site of the terminal moraine (the front edge) of the Wisconsin Glacier, the last to make it to this part of the country.
Traveling the Little Beaver Creek Valley is a unique experience, one we love to share.
